The
Cattlemen's Association of Virginia City brings in range detective/hired
gun Sherman Clegg (Earl Holliman) to stop the cattle rustling that they
think is being done by the small outfit cattle owners in the area, against
the protests of Adam Cartwright (Pernell Roberts). Ira Tatum (Don Collier)
is the leader of the small owners, who appeal to Adam to help protect
them.
Bob Hoy, who played Don's brother Joe Butler
in The High Chaparral appears in the beginning of the episode.
