Memorabilia Page 3
This is a full-sized poster of the 1962 film,
Safe At Home. It was highly collectible back when the movie was
released because it has both Roger Maris and Mickey Mantle, the two greatest
sports legends of the day. Today, it is almost impossible to find, even in
collector's markets. The last one spotted sold for more than $700 at auction!
Be warned, there are reprints now on the market, which sell for about $10, but
the real thing is very rare.

You are not seeing double. This is an 8 x 10 promotional photo for the movie,
Safe At Home. It is not as rare as the poster, but it is still a
highly sought sports collectible and routinely fetches more than $100. These
are known to have been recently reproduced for about $10, so buyer beware.
Autographed copies by Roger Maris and Mickey Mantle are known to exist, but
expect to pay a fortune to obtain one. If you are lucky enough to find one
autographed by the two baseball greats, you would be wise to have the signatures
authenticated before you purchase it. If the seller is unwilling to provide
this, consider the photo to be a reproduction and the signatures a fraud.

One of the more unique items to be
found is the TV Guide for June 17-23, 1961. Lawrence Welk is on the cover, but
inside is the wonderful Sons of Guns article. L-R: Dan Blocker with Dave 6 and
Dirk 3; Don Collier with baby Steven James, Don Jr. and David Richard, both 6;
Dennis Weaver with Rick 12, Rusty 2 and Rob 8; and Michael Landon with Mark 12.
This TV Guide can still be found in collector's markets for about $18.
